Softwash versus hot water, low pressure roof cleaning.

Do not be fooled!!
There are softwashing companies in Green Bay that advertise about a new no ‘pressure roof cleaning’ technique called ‘softwashing’. It sounds like such a safe way to clean. It is in reality the most dangerous and irresponsible way to clean vinyl siding, driveways, decks….

I reported a company called Pioneer softwash to the department of agriculture for using this extremely irresponsible roof cleaning technique. Several months later, they were reprimanded, then retrained on how to safely clean residential homes safely, and without the use of bleach.

Unfortunately, they are still using bleach. It is not the fact that these softwash businesses are using bleach to clean unsuspecting customers homes. What gets me upset is that they do not tell their customers about the use of bleach.
If one of these companies is caught by OSHA using toxic bleach to clean your homes roof, they will be fined, and quite possibly forced out of business. But it is you, the owner of the property, that is now responsible for the clean-up. No big deal right? Wrong! Osha can charge these unknowing customers up to 50,000.00 per day for the clean-up. The truth is that these clean-up crews can’t rid your property of the bleach entirely. The eco-system around your home is now contaminated.

I knew of the bleaching technique called softwashing back in 1997 when I started my business. There was no way in hell I was going to risk my companies future just so I could clean a roof faster, and make more money. Making money shouldn’t be the number one objective when you are in business.
For me anyway, making my customers happy after they have trusted me with their home is most important. Money will take care of itself if you are honest and fair with customers.
I am always aware that it is my customers that allow me to be self employed. That is why I treat each and every customer with much respect and kindness.

My prices are very competitive, and I do all work for my business. With some other larger business, you have no idea who’s going to show up to get the work you requested completed. The turnover in the pressure washing trade is huge. It’s hard work to clean a decks, siding, driveways….. properly. Some of these bigger businesses send out guys who were hired yesterday to clean a customers vinyl siding. That could be disastrous at the end of the day, especially when using bleach.

At Pro roof cleaning, I bid all work. Then, if hired, I will be the one whom comes back to complete all the work requested. There’s no substitute for experience. Each roof has a slightly different issue going on. You need to know how to properly clean each roof. You must clean every customers home thoroughly so the algae, fungi, or lichen doesn’t reappear in a year or two. I guarantee everything I clean for 7 years. After the cleaning is completed, I apply a blocker on each deck, all siding, walkways, driveway…. stays clean. The blocker puts an invisible barrier between the roof and anything might land on it. Algae, fungi lichen, moss….. can not penatrate the blocker. Now my customers homes will not only be clean, they’ll stay clean.

I started my cleaning business in 1997, and I’ve seen numerous ‘softwash’ (bleach) businesses sued for damages they had caused. The excess bleach often kills grass, landscaping, and plants around the customers home.

The bottom line is this. If you do not want bleach used on your property, ask the man bidding the work if bleach will be used. If they answer yes, these guys try and convince you the chloride bleach is harmless, and will not damage your landscaping or plants. Thats a lie. Chloride bleach is toxic, and will kill just about everything it comes into contact with.

Why do these companies put a deodorizer into the solution they use? Because they don’t want you to detect the use of bleach on your property. Why do they water down all the landscaping, plants, flowers, even the grass? The answer is that by watering everything down, it lessens the chance of killing anything around the home. Sometimes this works, and sometimes it doesn’t. Why rosk all these negative things that could happen?

At Pro roof cleaning, O use only ‘Safewash’ products. There will be no bleach or pool shock used on your home’s roof.

I would love to meet you, and give you a fair price to properly clean your homes roof, and do it safely. If I clean the roof that you are concerned about, remember, I guarantee all work for 7 years. Other roof cleaning businesses wouldn’t come close to that. I have seen first hand how effective this blocker is on residential roof surfaces.
After all, why spend your hard earned money on your roof if it’s just going to come back in a few years, maybe months if it wasn’t cleaned properly.

Thank you for reading the above. Sone people have let me know they don’t like the fact that I cut down, or degrade a competitor.
I wish I wouldn’t have to do that. The problem I have is that they don’t make the customers aware of the mix of deodorizer and bleach that will be used. They are fully aware that if you know bleach is the main cleaning agent
These roof cleaning companies like Pioneer know fully well that if their customers knew the truth on these massive amounts of bleach used, no one would hire them. That’s why you need to ask questions.

At Pro roof cleaning, (PROROOFCLEANING.COM) no bleach will contaminate your property. I will show you exactly what solutions I would be using. I will not try and trick you, or fool you. I am a perfectionist, so you can rest easier knowing every shingle has to be cleaned carefully and perfectly. It may take an extra hour or two, but I need to know before leaving my customers home that I did the best job possible.
My customers are the reason I can be self employed. Thank you for considering my small roof cleaning business. I would like to have the chance to look at what needs cleaning. After looking at what needs to be done, I’ll give you a price right away. I know that my customers appreciate the very fair prices, and the hard work I put in to get things looking new again.

Thank you for reading. I hope to have the chance to meet you, and look at the issue you have on your roof. After 27 years in the roof cleaning business, there is nothing I haven’t seen many times before. There’s no substitute for experience!

Best regards,
